Ten finalists from around the world competed in the 2009 T.G.I. Friday’s® World Bartender Championship March 26, 2010 in Carrollton, Texas. More than 7,000 bartenders worldwide participated in last year’s competition.

After four second place finishes and six overall apperances, Zachau finally broke through and won the 2009 World Bartender Championships.

T.G.I. Friday’s presented a check for $500,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America during the World Bartender Championship April 17, 2009 at T.G.I. Friday’s Headquarters in Carrollton, Texas. The money was raised at local, regional and division bartender competitions throughout the year. T.G.I. Friday’s has a national partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
